Tensator queue system handles coastal elements and crowds at i360

Queue management specialist Tensator has provided 100 retractable barriers to safeguard the visitor experience at the British Airways i360 in Brighton.

The “vertical pier”, which opened on the southerly coast earlier this year, is equipped with 100 Tensabarriers. The structures are made from marine-grade steel to survive the seaside conditions.

The i360, which can carry 200 passengers at a time, is quickly becoming one of Brighton’s must-do attractions, so Tensator had to ensure a robust queue management system to cope with high volumes of visitors.

“The visitor queues need to be managed appropriately,” said Raj Birdi, project manager, Tensator. “With experience working with international airports and railway stations across the world, we’re used to ensuring some of the busiest public places and attractions have a positive customer journey from arrival through to departure.”
